National Organization

Order of Omega is a National leadership honor society for college fraternity men and sorority women. Order of Omega recognizes juniors and seniors who have exemplified high standards in the areas of scholarship, leadership, involvement within their respective organization and within the Greek, campus, and local communities. Each collegiate chapter is permitted to offer membership to a maximum of 3% of the campus fraternity and sorority population each semester. The purpose of Order of Omega is threefold:

  • To bring together the most representative fraternity and members and recognize these students who have attained a high standard of leadership in Greek activities, to encourage them to continue along this line, and to inspire other to strive conspicuous attainment.
  • To bring together members of the faculty, alumni, and student members of the institution’s fraternities and sororities on a basis of mutual interest, understanding and helpfulness;
  • To encourage Greek leadership by sponsoring activities to promote the Greek community at Creighton University including the Greek Leadership retreat, Being A New Greek (BANG), and Greek Awards.

Creighton University
The Mu Lambda chapter of Order of Omega was founded at Creighton University in 1992. It has grown and developed over the years, and currently has 71 members from the Creighton Greek community.
The purpose of Order of Omega at Creighton University is to acknowledge exemplary members of the Greek community, and to provide services to the Greek community that help to promote a positive Greek experience, leadership development, as well as Greek chapter and member recognition.
