Academic Success Peer Mentors can:
Help you figure out which note-taking, self-quizzing, organization, and time management techniques work best for you and the courses you’re taking. From making flash-cards to creating a daily planner to reading a textbook, ASPMs have a lot of tips and tricks up their sleeves, and they’re committed to helping you find what works best for you!
Listen to you in one-on-one meetings. Sometimes not doing well in class isn’t really about the class or content—often, it’s about stress. If you are worried about making friends, just had a breakup, or are constantly thinking about tuition, it can help to get it off your chest with a person who most likely knows exactly what you’re experiencing.
Point you in the right direction. Have a question but not sure where to go for answers? No problem! Your ASPM can help you get you connected to the resources you need to stay on track.
Know technology. Your Academic Success Peer Mentor can show you the basics of BlueLine, CreightonConnect, NEST, etc. Don’t be afraid to ask!
Give good guidance. Academic Success Peer Mentors know how to navigate college. They know how to prepare for quizzes and exams, how to register for classes, declare a major, get involved, and much more. They took this position because they’ve been in your shoes and they’ve got advice to share. Stop by!
