Tricia Sharrar, J.D.
Vice Provost for Academic Administration and Partnerships
Tricia Brundo Sharrar, J.D. is the Vice Provost for Academic Administration and Partnerships at Creighton University. She works closely with other executives to create and maintain the excellence of Creighton University’s undergraduate, graduate and professional school programs. Ms. Sharrar oversees the general operation of the Office of the Registrar, Office of Disability Accommodations, Business Office, Creighton EDGE®, Fahey Career Center, Military & Veterans Affairs, Educational Opportunity Programs and other academic and student support related programs. Ms. Sharrar serves as a Lecturer in the College of Arts & Sciences and as faculty in the Interdisciplinary EdD program in Leadership.
Charles Austerberry, Ph.D.
Director of Pre-Health Advising
Dr. Austerberry joined Creighton’s Department of Biology in 1987 and continues to teach molecular and cellular biology courses. As Director of Pre-Health Professions Advising in the EDGE, Dr. Austerberry works with faculty Pre-Health Professions Advisors as well as professional staff in the EDGE to support the pre-health professions Learning Communities.
Joe Ecklund, Ph.D.
Director of Academic Success
Dr. Ecklund oversees many of Creighton’s academic support efforts, including tutoring, academic coaching, workshops on study skills, and the academic strategies courses (EDGE 120 and 130). He also provides leadership to the 5 federally-funded Educational Opportunity Programs at Creighton. Dr. Ecklund came to Creighton in 2007, and holds degrees from Marquette University and the University of Toledo.
Julie Olson, M.A.
Associate Director for Pre-Professional Advising
Julie provides pre-professional advising to students and works closely with Learning Communities. Before coming to the Creighton EDGE, Julie was the Assistant Dean for Admissions at the Creighton School of Law, and prior to that she was at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, where she provided pre-professional advising in the College of Arts and Sciences for pre-health and pre-law students. Julie holds a B.A. in Criminal Justice and an M.A. in Counseling from the University of South Dakota.
Rachel Gibson, M.S.
Rachel leads the collection of outcomes and assessment data in academic and co-curricular areas. Prior to her current role, Rachel served as the Associate Director in the Career Center. Before coming to Creighton, Rachel worked at Wichita State University and the University of Kansas where she earned a B.A. in Psychology and a M.S. in Higher Education Administration.
Randi Bibins-Clark, L.C.S.W.
Associate Director of Academic Success
Randi comes to Creighton with over 15 years of experience as a counselor, educator, and advisor. Randi holds an M.S. in Social Work and an M.A. in Education, and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. As the Associate Director of Academic Success in the Creighton EDGE, Randi provides academic coaching and counseling services, teaches Strategies for Success courses, and assists with retention efforts. In addition, Randi manages the tutoring program.
Tobias Nownes, M.A.
Assistant Director of Academic Initiatives
With 10 years of Instructional Design experience, Tobias collaborates in the development and implementation of the EDGE Learning Communities, the Committee Letter, the EDGE Mentors and EDGE Shadowing programs along with developing our online marketing presence. He holds a B.A. in Creative Writing and an M.A. in Literature, both from Creighton University.
Linda Dunn, M.A.
Assistant Director of Pre-Health Advising
For the past 12 of her 19 years at Creighton, Linda has been directly involved in advising students, especially those interested in the health professions. She holds a B.A. in English and an M.A. in Liberal Studies from Creighton. Linda manages the pre-health learning communities and provides pre-professional advising to students across the campus who are exploring healthcare professions.
Sarah Shaner, M.A.
Assistant Director of Academic Success
Sarah provides academic support to students through academic coaching, teaching Strategies for Success courses, and facilitating workshops on academic success skills. She also assists with the management of the tutoring program. Sarah holds a B.A. in Psychology from Ohio University and an M.A. in Counselor Education from The Ohio State University.
Ryan McLaughlin, M.S.
Academic Success Coach
With over 20 years of experience in education, Ryan provides academic support to students through one-on-one academic coaching appointments, teaching EDGE strategy courses, and facilitating workshops on academic success around campus. Additionally, Ryan works with students in Creighton’s Student Support Services program providing an additional layer of support to first-generation college students. Ryan holds a B.S. in Education and an M.S. in Higher Education/Manangement.
Maureen Beat, B.F.A.
Maureen is the Administrative Assistant in the EDGE office, managing the Work Study staff and assisting with the Tutoring and Ratio Studiorum Programs. With a B.F.A. from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, she designs various in-house projects for the Creighton EDGE for use on and off campus.
Marianne is the first person to greet students in the EDGE in her role as Administrative Assistant. She assists with the management of the Learning Communities and whatever is needed to ensure that the student experience is always exemplary.
Jeremy Fisher, M.B.A., P.H.R.
Director, John P. Fahey Career Center
Jeremy’s primary focus is managing campus recruiting programs, employer relations and outreach for Creighton University to develop employment and internship opportunities for students, while supporting the career and professional development of students and alumni. Jeremy graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.A. in Psychology and has an M.B.A. from Creighton University. He is also a certified Professional in Human Resources (P.H.R.) and has been employed at Creighton since 2004.
D’Lynn Buck, B.A.
Assistant Director, John P. Fahey Career Center
D’Lynn coordinates Career Center events including career fairs, etiquette dinners and employer events. She also manages on-campus interviews and assists with employer relations. D’Lynn received her B.A. in English from Briar Cliff University.
Heather Doering, M.A.
Assistant Director of Business Career Programs
Heather provides career support to students and alumni primarily from the Heider College of Business, with a particular focus on coordinating the Career Portfolio Program. Before coming to Creighton, Heather worked at the University of Nebraska at Omaha where she earned her M.A. in Counseling – Student Affairs Practice in Higher Education. She graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a B.S. in Business Administration – Marketing.
Raven Herson-Ortolan, M.A.
Senior Career Advisor
A Senior Career Advisor in the John P. Fahey Career Center, Raven primarily serves students from the College of Arts & Sciences on career matters including, but not limited to, major/minor exploration, job & internship searches, resume critiques, and graduate & professional school preparation. Prior to joining Creighton University, Raven provided academic support to MBA students at the Carlson School of Management. She received an MA in Counseling Student Personnel Psychology and a BA in English Literature—both from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.
Katie Wessel, M.S.
Senior Career Advisor
Katie provides career support to students and alumni primarily in the College of Arts & Sciences and College of Nursing including major/minor exploration, job & internship searches, resume critiques, and graduate & professional school preparation. She has over 10 years of experience supporting college students in their career and personal development. She earned an M.S. in Counseling and Student Development and B.S. in Business Administration – Marketing from Kansas State University.
Caitlin Drummy, M.A.
Business Career Advisor
Caitlin provides career support to students and alumni primarily from the Heider College of Business, with a particular focus on implementing the Career Portfolio Program. Prior to coming to Creighton, Caitlin received both her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Spanish language and Master of Arts in Educational Administration – Student Affairs from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. Between her degrees, she served her sorority, Gamma Phi Beta, as a Collegiate Leadership Consultant, where she travelled North America visiting over 40 colleges and universities.
