UPDATE: As of March 2015, the information below is no longer current. There is a new system in place for current undergraduate students to use for collecting letters of recommendation. For more information, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you!
REGARDING LETTERS OF EVALUTION IN AMCAS
For your AMCAS application, you should be marking “Committee Letter” if you are receiving a Campus Letter, or “Letter Packet” if you are utilizing Creighton’s Letter of Recommendation/Evaluation system but NOT receiving a Campus Letter.
Below is the information you should be using for the contact section in both cases:Ms. Teddi Wiegand, Pre-Health Letters Coordinator
Creighton University Chemistry Department, Hixson-Lied HLS 268
2500 California Plaza
Omaha, NE 68178-0320
Be sure that you provide the correct AAMC ID and Letter ID to Ms. Wiegand. These are found on the Letter Request Form -
AAMC ID: 8-digit identification number assigned to each user of AAMC products and services.
Letter ID: Unique 7-digit number assigned to each letter entry on your AMCAS application.
Letter Request Form: PDF generated by you in the AMCAS application for designated letter authors (in our case, the letters service run by Ms. Wiegand), including your mailing address, AAMC ID, the Letter ID, and information about submitting letters to AMCAS.
And I would highly recommend viewing this short tutorial: https://www.aamc.org/students/applying/amcas/amcasresources/187934/howtoaddletters.html
If you not getting a Campus Letter, and you are not using the Creighton service, you must instruct your letter writers on how they are to upload their letters individually to AMCAS. But please note that if you do this (i.e., use only the AMCAS system) Creighton does not archive your letters or have access to your letters in any way.
