TRIO Student Support Services: Refer a Student for Advising, Academic Counseling

TRIO Student Support Services seeks faculty and staff referrals for students to apply to the program for the spring semester. TRIO SSS provides ongoing individual advising and academic counseling services for eligible Creighton undergraduates.

Services available to TRIO students include: financial aid advising; graduate and professional school preparation; career exploration and professional development; research and scholarship opportunities; academic tutoring; cultural events and leadership activities; personal and wellness coaching; and free printing, a private classroom and study labs.

  • Student eligibility: Students may be eligible for the TRIO SSS program if they are first-generation college students, meet limited income guidelines, or have a physical or learning disability documented with the Disability Services Office. CreightonConnect is a great tool for identifying if your student identifies as first-generation.
  • Refer a student: As faculty, staff and advisors, you can help connect students to resources they need to thrive. If you have students who you think would benefit from academic support, time management, graduate school preparation orcareer discernment, please refer them to TRIO SSS. View the faculty and staff referral form.

Once students are referred, TRIO SSS will reach out if they are eligible to encourage them to apply to the program and invite them to an informational phone interview to discuss how participation in TRIO SSS can support them.
