Creighton Alumnus Named Bishop in Michigan

A Creighton alumnus has been named bishop-elect of the Diocese of Gaylord in Michigan.

The Rev. Jeffrey J. Walsh, MA’98, will be installed as the sixth bishop of the diocese at 1 p.m. CST on March 4. The event will be livestreamed on the Diocese of Gaylord YouTube page. A recording will be made available.

Bishop-elect Walsh, 56, graduated from Creighton’s Christian Spirituality program. He most recently served as a priest in the Diocese of Scranton in Pennsylvania and as pastor of Saint Rose of Lima Parish and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, both in Carbondale, Pennsylvania, according to the Diocese of Gaylord.
