2018 PHCO Volunteer Registration

Volunteer Opportunities | PHCO 2019

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for PHCO! Last year, more than 500 guests were connected to services and over 1,000 volunteers participated in myriad roles as navigators, health providers/screeners, or on an implementation team. Most volunteers will serve as Navigators to guide guests through the process of accessing services. Additional volunteers are needed for set-up, clean-up, registration, and food service.

Creighton Employees: Don’t forget! Full and part time benefits-eligible faculty and staff can take advantage of the the Volunteer Service Paid Time Off Policy to volunteer for PHCO!

If you are a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician interested in volunteering as a preceptor in our interprofessional health screenings, please email us at phco@creighton.edu.

Looking for other ways to be involved? Please email us at phco@creighton.edu to inquire about additional opportunities.

Navigators are volunteers who partner 1:1 with guests as they access the health screenings and community resources available at PHCO. The role includes things like building rapport, creating a comfortable environment, filling out forms, and helping get questions answered throughout the day. Expertise in health or social services is not required to be a great Navigator – just the desire to connect and willingness to help.

Training: We are committed to creating a positive, productive, and safe environment for our guests and volunteers. We’ll make sure you have all the information you need to contribute to that commitment through our 2 Part training.

  • Part 1 – ALL Navigators: Prior to the event, we ask that all Navigators review our online training materials. Training materials will be available at the link below by March 15th.
  • Part 2 – NEW Navigators: The first 45 minutes of New Navigator shifts are dedicated to training, where we will further explain your role, the logistics of the day, and answer questions. Returning Navigators are always welcome to attend training, just arrive at the designated time.

Shifts: Navigators can volunteer for one of 2 shifts: AM shift or FULL shift. Due to training, shift start times differ for new and returning Navigators, so please click the appropriate link below for details!

Age Requirement: You must be 19 years old as of March 29, 2019 to volunteer as a Navigator. Current Creighton students are not required to meet the age requirement.

Hospitality Liaisons

Hospitality liaisons will assist in a variety of roles that streamline the flow of the event for both guests and volunteers. For example, hospitality liaisons may assist with Navigator check-in, help maintain safety in the bus zone, or direct social services providers to their tables in the morning. We welcome your volunteer spirit and can-do attitude in these unique roles that enhance the event and, ultimately, the guest experience.

Hospitality liaison shift times will vary based on role. Click the link below for details!

Please note, with the exception of Creighton students, hospitality volunteers must be 19 or older.
