The children of immigrants are the new Americans. How we fare in welcoming them will determine the nature of this country in the 21st century and beyond. Schools have a unique role in bridging divides between newcomers and longer-term students and families, which helps all students succeed. “I Learn America” is a must-see new film on the experiences and challenges faced by a group of young immigrants adapting to their new country. The free screening is on Thursday, December 5th at the Joslyn Art Museum. At 6:00 pm there will be a dessert reception, followed by the screening at 7:00 pm.
