Welcome to the CCSJ’s Weekly Update!
We hope your summer break was relaxing and fun-filled with family and friends. As classes start up again this week, the CCSJ has resumed its fall office hours from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm in Harper Center Suite 2067 and the Weekly Update is returning with weekly reminders of volunteer opportunities happening around campus and the Omaha area.
The Weekly Service Sites will begin on the dates found here. All Weekly Service Sites ask that volunteers dress modestly and arrive promptly for departure from Deglman Circle at start time.
For more information about the Weekly Service Sites or the CCSJ, please visit our website by clicking “Creighton Center for Service and Justice” at the top of the page or drop by our office to meet and connect with staff and student coordinators.
Events This Week:
Service & Justice Volunteer Fair
Meet and visit with representatives from over 60 Omaha/Council Bluffs area agencies that offer volunteer opportunities in our community. This is the only time all year that all these agencies will be on campus! Sponsored by the CCSJ, this event is on Wednesday, August 28 from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm in Harper Center Ballroom.
Ignatian College Connection
The Ignatian College Connection (ICC) Program is seeking volunteers to teach ACT prep workshops for 40 high school students from around the Omaha area. Workshops will be two hours long and they will go over each section of the ACT Test, including English, Math, Reading and Science. As a new college prep program on campus, the ICC has limited resources and is depending on CU volunteers, so any help would greatly appreciated. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
