Hand-in-Hand Volunteer Training Session
Hand-in-Hand is a day (April 14th) where adults with developmental disabilities come and hang out at Creighton and get to have an afternoon of games, crafts, bingo, food, and even some karaoke! It is great for the people to make social connections and actually get to do something that they might not otherwise do. A CU student (called a partner) is matched two-to-one or one-to-one with the Guests who will join us for Hand in Hand. THAT’S WHERE YOU COME IN! Volunteers are making an impact on the individuals life by working with them one on one and just providing them emotional and social support and helping make their day that much better. It’s an exciting opportunity to give of yourself personally and touch someone’s life.
All partners will need to attend a training session on April 2, 2013, at the Rigge Science Building Room 120 from 6:30-7:30 pm.
On the day of the event all partners will need to report by 12:30 pm to be ready for our guests to arrive, and stay for a short check in after the guests have left. You will be finished no later than 5:00 pm.
