On November 10th, students who are coordinating Service and Justice trips for this spring semester and next fall met for a Day of Formation. This day followed a week of service during which small groups of coordinators participated in service.
The Day of Formation was a chance for the coordinators to learn about the seven pillars of the program, reflect on their experiences during the week of service while participating in social analysis of the issues they encountered, and begin learning how to facilitate reflection on the trips they will coordinate. Coordinators also received their committee assignments in preparation for the trips.
Overall, coordinators spent the day going deeper into the mindset of their role as service trip leaders while reflecting on the service they did that week and bonding together as a large group.
