Urge President Obama to ensure the U.S. government meets its’ obligations under international law to respect and advance human rights.
The U.S. government’s human rights obligations are clear. For example, everyone has the right to a fair trial, the right not to be arbitrarily detained, and the right not to be arbitrarily deprived of one’s life. And yet indefinite detention and unfair trials continue at Guantánamo, and the U.S. government is killing people unlawfully with drones and other weapons. Ask the President to lead the US in meeting its international human rights obligations.
