Migration:DACA and the Affordable Care Act

Recently, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has declared that young, healthy immigrants who have received Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) will not be eligible for healthcare under the Affordable Care Act. This means that although these young people are legally allowed to stay in the U.S., they cannot be covered for pre-existing conditions, cannot participate in healthcare exchanges, cannot receive Medicaid or any state or federal health benefits, and cannot participate in the Children’s Health Program. We believe that this exclusion goes against our Catholic faith to care for the common good.

Express your concern for some of the most vulnerable people in our society by Signing a letter to the Department of Health and Human Services.
