Join the Ignatian Advocacy Groups!

Are you passionate about economic justice, migration, sustainability, or peace? Do you want to take action about those issues? Would you like to learn what advocacy is? Would you like the opportunity to meet with state senators, council members, and other political representatives to voice your opinion about issues that you are passionate about?

The CCSJ began Ignatian Advocacy Groups on Creighton’s campus as a way for students to live out the mission of being for and with the poor and marginalized whom they often encounter through their service experiences. Students will be invited to join an issue group, working with other students and two members of the ignatian advocacy team. The group will work together to effectively research and advocate for the issue they choose. After deciding the best course of action the group will participate in direct action advocacy!

If you are interested in this opportunity there will be an informational & education meeting on Wednesday September 19th at 7:00pm in Harper 2066.  Email if you have any questions.

About Carissa

I am a Senior Justice and Society major with minors in Spanish and Social Entrepreneurship from Des Moines, IA. This is my second year working in the CCSJ and I am excited to be back with my CCSJ family. I left the office last semester to be in the Dominican Republic with Creighton’s Encuentro Dominicano program. This year I am returning to work on the Advocacy Team and lead the weekly service site to Kellom Elementary.
