If you haven’t heard of Nickel Creek or you’re not a fan of folky-bluegrass type music, don’t let that stop you from giving their new album as listen. Split after they released their Why Should the Fire Die? album in 2007 (clearly they had some foreshadowing going on there), mandolinist Chris Thile, fiddler Sara Watkins, and guitarist Sean Watkins finally reconvened after years of pursuing other projects and made A Dotted Line. The trio had been playing and writing music for 18 years before the breakup, so I think it’s about time they made a good comeback. It seems like it wasn’t hard for them to get back into their old rhythm of things, as their new stuff is just like their old. Check out their single, “Love of Mine” for a quick listen!
