Recording on a Macintosh

  • Launch the program by clicking on Panopto Recorder in the dock or Applications folder.
  • Click the Sign In button and then click the Get Providers for Server button.
    • If this is the first time launching the recorder, or the Server field is empty. Enter ‘bluecast.hosted.panopto.com

  • Select BlueLine Account and then log in using your NetID and blue password.
  • Click the Create New Recording button

  • Choose a Folder (class) from the dropdown list and modify the Session name if desired.
  • If not already done, choose the sources and slides you would like to capture.
  • The Audio Source and Video Source will vary depending on your computer.  For classroom Macs select Built-in Input for audio source and ADVC-55 for video source.  There should be colored boxes in the level area when you talk if the audio is set right.
  • Click the Record button.
  • At the end of the lecture click the Stop button.  The files will automatically be transmitted to the server for processing and you will see the status.  Please do NOT close down the program or log off until the files show as finished uploading.
