About Us

MISSION

The mission of the Creighton University Archives is to acquire, preserve, and organize materials and information that have enduring value related to the history of Creighton University, a private Catholic and Jesuit comprehensive university founded in Omaha, Nebraska, in 1878.  The University Archives will promote Creighton University, especially the university’s teaching, research and service efforts, by making these materials accessible for research, instructional, administrative and other uses and by serving as an informational and educational resource for the Creighton community and others.

In keeping with our mission, the University Archives will use this blog to provide access to some images and artifacts that otherwise might go undiscovered in our collections.  For some items, we have little or no information.  Our hope is that you will help by sharing what you know about the contents, context and origins of the materials.

The blog is maintained by University Archivist David E. Crawford, who relies heavily on excellent student workers and interns (as well as the ones who are just adequate). As of Fall 2017, we have: Lexie Kafka, Katherine Consola, Grace Wilson, Ben Gliedt, and Thomas Haggstrom.
