Time to say farewell

NOTE: We interrupt our series of belated thanks/farewells for current ones.

First, we have been blessed for the past several weeks to have a wonderful intern, Rachel, a graduate student (from another university) working on a degree in Library & Information Science.

Rachel in the Rare Books Room

Yesterday was Rachel’s last day with us, and I am already seeing the many ways that she will be missed.  She did some outstanding work in several areas, including an exhibit of religious artifacts (which you will hear more about in an upcoming Creighton’s Attic post).  Rachel is a great colleague, and I look forward to crossing paths with her in the future.

This weekend, we will also say goodbye to Word and Image: The Saint John’s Bible exhibit at the Joslyn Art Museum.  The stunning artwork is a joy to behold, and we are so pleased to have our 14th-century Dutch prayer book included.  If you haven’t seen the exhibit – and why haven’t you, by the way? – you only have until Sunday, the 19th.  Go see it!  You will be glad you did.  (We will still have the Heritage Edition in the Rare Books Room for a couple more years, but the original pages are so very nice.)
