Welcome to the future, University Archives Website!

We’ve finally done it, folks! Our University Archives, Rare Books, and Special Collections website is officially rolling out a new format. We’ve already revealed our new home page:

What you see in that image that’s a bit too small to read, at the top, is a brief introduction to our website and department. Below the introductory paragraphs are three buttons leading to the three sections of our department – University Archives, Rare Books, and Special Collections – with descriptions. Below those are our embedded Twitter feeds (@CreightonArchiv and @CreightonRBSC – follow us!) and a button linking to Creighton’s Attic (this blog!). In the top right corner is a “Featured” box, which currently features our Nebraska 150th Anniversary of Statehood exhibit (in association with the official Nebraska 150 Celebration), which is on display on the main level of the Reinert-Alumni Memorial Library. As always, our Rare Books Room hours are on the left hand side, and are updated weekly.

We also have our brand new University Archives page, as seen below:

Similar to the home page, we have an introduction at the top, a “Featured” box in the top right corner, and below those, buttons leading to different sections of the website. On this page are our online resources, such as Creighton yearbooks and newspapers. Our “Featured Collection” for the time being is the William F. Rigge, S.J. Papers, which you can find out more about on our University Archives page.

We will continue to roll out changes in the coming weeks (hopefully, days) and much of the website will be formatted similar to this. Is it easier to navigate, as was our hope? Or are you more confused? Let us know down in the comments!

BONUS QUESTION: What is this piece of equipment, as shown in our “Creighton’s Attic” button on the new home page?
