Spring forward, Fall back

Daylight Savings Time starts on Saturday (November 3rd), so it is time to set your clocks back an hour.

For years, St. John’s Church didn’t have to worry about changing the large clocks on the east tower because they didn’t work!  Owing to a lack of funds during construction, the church opened in 1888 with the east tower incomplete – no steeple, and no hands or internal mechanisms to go with the stone clock faces.  All was rectified in 1977, when St. John’s received a second steeple and a carillon – and a working clock.
