The cold weather here is enough to make anyone want to run to the bed and hide under the covers until march, but recently there have been more than enough reasons for me to throw on some party clothes and brave the snow on the ground.
Last weekend, the band Rebelution played at the Slowdown, a concert venue set up by Omaha’s own Connor Oberst (lead singer of the band Bright Eyes). The crowd was a mixed bag, with many of the Hawaii kids making the trip down to see the reggae band in action. The show was by no means a disapointment- they band was great the joint was “bumping”. i loved seeing some familiar faces, and some new ones too!
other exciting news…I’ve got tickets to see john mayer in action coming up at the beginning of next month- I also got to see him 2 years ago when i was a sophomore, he usually makes a stop in omaha about once a year.
cant ask for more, thanks omaha for having a great music scene!
in the words of reggae master bob marley- “when the music hits you, you know you’ve got no pain”
