So as I look at the calendar, as I’m sure many of you do, May 1st is staring everyone right the eyeball (as my 4 year old would say). Which means there is about a week and a half to finalize your college plans. I always joke around that half of my year runs from the beginning of the school year until April 15th and that the last half of my year is April 16-May 1. If you are still deciding your college future, you are not alone!
My favorite part of being here at Creighton, has to be working so hands on with families during this time. It’s not an easy decision to make – you really are trying to decide if the school at the top of your list, will deliver the promises you are hoping for at the end of your college career. For some that means Creighton will make them a Doctor, for others a nurse or business leader, and yet many others have their sights set on politics, music, or just making sure Creighton is the school that will help them determine what is best for them. We serve all of those populations – and if you’re looking for someone to work with individually through the next week or so, keep in mind my door, computer, and phone, are always open, on, and with me!
Also, if you really want to get a taste of what Creighton is like, make sure you’re following the events taking place tonight when we take the field at our new home field, TD Ameritrade Park, home of the College World Series and now Creighton baseball! We play tonight against some Nebraska team – somebody said their color is red, but I don’t imagine there will be a whole lot of it in the stands tonight! Go Jays!
